Evaluation and medication management for ADHD. Treatment starts with understanding what you're experiencing, how it's affecting daily life, and what else may be contributing before deciding what treatment makes sense.

If this sounds familiar

Attention, organization, impulsivity, or restlessness may be affecting school, work, relationships, routines, or daily life. Maybe ADHD has already been diagnosed, maybe it has only been suspected, or maybe a past screening left more questions than answers.

Meredith starts with a careful look at the symptoms, their history, and how they show up across daily life.

Common ways ADHD shows up

A few of the patterns we see most, not a complete list and not a checklist you need to match.

Inattentive type

Difficulty sustaining focus, losing track of tasks and conversations, missing details, struggling with organization. Often diagnosed later in life, especially in women, because it doesn't look like the hyperactive stereotype.

Hyperactive-impulsive type

Restlessness, difficulty sitting still, talking over others, acting on impulse, making decisions you regret later. This can show up as visible, can't-sit-still energy or as a quieter, internal restlessness that's harder to see.

Combined type

Both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms. One of the most common presentations. If you feel like your brain is simultaneously running too fast and not fast enough, you're describing this.

ADHD with co-occurring conditions

ADHD can occur alongside many other mental health concerns, medical conditions, or life circumstances. Sometimes those concerns contribute to attention or focus difficulties, and sometimes they exist alongside ADHD.

How we approach ADHD treatment

Your first visit is 60 minutes. That's enough time for a thorough evaluation. Meredith will ask about your history, current symptoms, what you've tried, and what's going on around the ADHD: sleep, mood, anxiety, work, relationships.

If medication is appropriate, you'll understand the reasoning: why this one, what to expect, how it's monitored. Different ADHD medications may be appropriate depending on your history, symptoms, and goals. Meredith will explain the options and why one may fit better than another. Whether to start medication at all is decided together.

Follow-up visits are 30 minutes. Some ADHD medications require closer follow-up. Meredith explains what monitoring is recommended and reviews how treatment is working at each visit.

Pricing and logistics

First visit: 60 minutes, $400

Follow-up: 30 minutes, $250

Extended follow-up: 60 minutes, $375 (when you want more time)

Insurance: We are out-of-network with all insurance plans. Superbills are provided (upon request) for possible out-of-network reimbursement on commercial plans. We are not able to see Medicare or Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan, or OHP) members, and we screen for this at intake so eligibility is clear before care begins.

Format: Visits are by video, from anywhere in Oregon. In certain circumstances a face-to-face visit may be necessary.

No referral needed. Book directly.

Questions about ADHD treatment

Can you diagnose ADHD via telehealth?
Yes. ADHD can be evaluated through telehealth using a thorough clinical interview, appropriate rating scales, and a careful review of your symptoms, history, and daily functioning. If formal neuropsychological testing is needed, Meredith will discuss that with you and refer you when appropriate, but most people do not need it for an ADHD evaluation.
How do you approach ADHD medication?
It depends on the evaluation. Several types of ADHD medication exist, and which one fits depends on your history, any co-occurring conditions, and your preferences. Whether to start medication at all is decided together, and Meredith explains the reasoning behind any recommendation so you can make an informed choice.
What is ADHD care like here?
You see the same provider every time, someone who knows your name, your history, and your story. The evaluation is a full 60 minutes and follow-ups are 30, with steady monitoring of how the medication is working. Care is continuous with the same provider from your first evaluation through follow-up visits.
I was diagnosed as a child but stopped treatment. Can I restart?
Yes. Many adults were treated as children and stopped in their teens or twenties. Your needs may be different now. The first visit reassesses where you are today and what treatment approach fits your current life.
What if I'm not sure it's ADHD?
That's fine, and honest. Focus problems can come from anxiety, depression, sleep issues, thyroid conditions, or ADHD. The evaluation is designed to sort that out. If it turns out to be something else, you're already in the right place to address it.

Your provider

Meredith Galvin is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She came to prescribing after thirteen years in social work and ten years in psychiatric nursing, including work as a charge nurse, conducting emergency psychiatric assessments at Duke Regional Hospital, and providing home health care. That background is why she takes time to understand how attention, focus, mood, sleep, and daily life fit together before deciding what treatment makes sense.
